Getting started

Build your first pipeline

5 min read
Your pipeline is a visual board of the companies you are working towards a decision. Here you will find the board, add your first deal, move it forward, and see where to tailor your stages.

Open your pipeline

In the sidebar, open Sales then Pipeline. Each column is a stage, and every card is a company moving through it. The totals across the top show your forecast, quoted and won values.

Add your first deal

A deal is simply a company placed on a stage. Open a company from Companies, then find the pipeline chip in its top bar (it reads Not on a pipeline for a new company).

Open the chip’s menu, choose Move pipeline / stage, pick a Pipeline and Stage, add a short Reason, and click Move.

The "Move company to" dialog with a pipeline and stage selected and a reason entered.

See your deal on the board

Back on the Pipeline board, your company now appears as a card in the stage you chose. The stage count updates automatically.

Move it forward

As a deal progresses, drag its cardto the next column. You can also change a company’s stage from its record using the same pipeline chip.

Note

Some stages are marked Won or Lost. Moving a company into one asks you to close out each linked opportunity, so your reporting stays accurate.

Customise your stages

To rename stages, reorder them, or add a whole new pipeline, go to Settings then CRM Settings and open the Pipelines section. Mark each stage as Won, Lost or Active so OroMiQ knows how to treat it.
